WOF 2010

Even though there were only a few of us. We had a great time at the WOF Conference in DC. So much so that the ladies decided they want to go back again next year! Of course I can never turn down a request from my daughters. So ladies, just because you missed it this year does not mean that you have to miss it next year. As a matter of fact I will share a little secret with you...one of the special guest next year will be MaryMary! So start putting those pennies away now.

The Fall is coming and the Women's Ministry will be planning some awesome events that you will want to be a part of. More info on that to come, including our new partnership with Girlfriend's Unlimited. I can't wait to share more details, so stay tuned!

Women of Faith Conference

Ladies its not to late to join us for the Women of Faith Conference being held on August 26th through the 28th in Washington DC. We will depart from WABC Thursday morning at 8 AM. We have reserved three rooms at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill. The cost is $149.00 a night (plus tax which is to be divided among the roommates). Dinner that evening is on your own. The conference, which is being held at the Verizon Center begins with an early session Friday morning and concludes on Saturday. Two boxed lunches are included in the $89.00 conference price. We will be carpooling so please be sure to compensate your driver for gas (and aid in the cost of parking at the hotel). We still have a few tickets available so if you are interested please speak with June James or Cyndi Jennings for more information.

A Calling On Your Life!

Last weekend we wrapped up our Women's Weekend Experience. Our guest speaker was my very good friend Rev. Dr. Pamela Chandler Lee. Pam and I have been friends for over 17 yrs. Although she is much younger them me I feel like I have learned so much from her about leadership. That day she told me how proud she was of me, that I have blossomed over the last few years ( when we met I was very shy, and did little or no talking). Marc likes to blame my girlfriends for this change in me, but in all honesty its God who has brought about the change.

I have so much to be thankful for, I have gone to places I never thought I would see. I have lived a life I never thought I deserved and I have met and been able to call some amazing people friend I never thought I would meet. I told Pam that the only reason I have grown is because God gave me no other choice! He demanded a price from me I couldn't ignore, he paid the ultimate price so that I might live. I owe everything I have to him. And because I owe him, and can never repay the debt I must do his will. That includes talking about some difficult times, leading in some painful places and sharing my story so that other's might see his glory through the life that I live. He took an ordinary girl, and created an extra ordinary life so that I might tell others about an extraordinary man name Jesus! What has God called you to do?

Women's Weekend 2010

I would like to thank everyone who attended the Women's Weekend Experience at WABC on this past weekend. Special thanks goes out to our guest facilitators, Rev. Catherine Harris, Deanna Johnson, Michelle Ferebee, Teresa Harris, and Bettie Greene. Thank you to our guest speaker Rev. Pamela Lee, and congratulations to our Women of The Year Louise Parker.

Sweet Life Cafe

Ladies, come and "Savior Time With God" at WABC Women's Ministry "Sweet Life Cafe". John 6:35 says "I Am the Bread of Life". Come and satisfy the cravings for friends, God, and spiritual growth. We will spend the day engaged in group experiences, personal time alone with God and an opportunity to serve others. Mark your calenders for May 22ND starting at 8:30 AM. The cost is $20.00 per person and includes continental breakfast, lunch and everything you will need for that day. Bring a friend and come experience the "Sweet Life". Registration ends May 1st. Then join us again on Sunday morning during our 11:30 AM worship service for our Annual Women's Day Service. Our guest speaker will be Rev. Pamela Chandler Lee of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Chase City VA.

The Living Passover

In lei of our Girls Night Out Event which was scheduled for Friday March 26th WABC will be hosting a Family Day trip to Williamsburg to see the Easter Play "The Living Passover" on Saturday March 27th. The cost is $15.00 pp and includes a meal and the musical play. We will leave the church on Saturday morning at 10:30 AM. For more info please speak with Erica Morrison.

Women's Weekend Experience

"Oh Taste and See that the Lord is Good". Ladies get ready to join us for our Annual Women's Day Weekend Experience starting on Saturday May 22ND at 8:30 AM and ending on Sunday May 23rd during our 11:30 AM Worship Service.

Join us on Saturday for our Women's Ministry workshop "The Sweet Life Cafe" where women come and Savor the Sweet Life! Savor time with God, Savor time with friends and Savor moments spent serving others. You will leave this workshop feeling nourished, satisfied, and full of the bread of life. The cost of this event is $20.00 per person (registration begins April 1st). There will be a time of worship, special sessions and dynamic facilitators along with a time of pampering and special service project.

On Sunday morning we will wrap up the weekend with a time of worship and words from a special speaker.
