Join Our Team

This year I have signed up to walk in the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and I’m hoping you’ll walk with me. I know there are a lot of breast cancer events out there, but Making Strides speaks to me because funds raised enable the American Cancer Society to help people stay well and get well from breast cancer, find cures, and empower people to fight back today. With your help, we can save lives. If you’d like to join me at Making Strides, please visit our team page. If you won’t be in town, I hope you’ll still support our efforts by making a donation of any amount you can spare.
As a little extra inspiration, I thought you might like to know a few of the ways the funds raised through Making Strides will help the American Cancer Society save lives every day. When you walk and make donation...More people in our community will have the information and tools they need to help prevent breast cancer or find it early. More people with breast cancer will have a place to turn around the clock to help them through every step of their cancer journey – whether it’s a free ride to treatment, a place to stay, or just talking to someone who has "been there." More progress will be made toward finding breast cancer’s causes and cures. The American Cancer Society has played a role in nearly every major breast cancer breakthrough of the last century, which have led to the discovery of lifesaving breast cancer treatments like Tamoxifen and Herceptin. You will help us find more. More women – like our own mothers, daughters, sisters, and grandmothers – will have access to lifesaving mammograms and treatment they need. Each of us has our own reasons for caring about the fight against breast cancer … whatever your reasons, I hope you’ll choose to make a difference by signing up to walk with me or by making a donation online. I’m so grateful to have great people like you in my life who care about helping fight breast cancer!

WOW!!!!!!!!

I don't know about you but I'm still trying to come down off of the high from this weekend's HeartSpa experience. This was my favorite picture of the day. I loved how the members of our Women's Ministry team came together and prayed at the end of our workshop session. Ladies you worked your butts off serving the women of WABC, pampering them by washing of feet (I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the picture of you all on the floor on your knees ministering to their every need), waiting on them hand and foot! Some of these women have never experienced anything like this before. Thanks so much for blessing them. It was so neat seeing grandmothers, mothers, daughters, sisters and aunts all being refreshed in Jesus. That day I witnessed the women of WABC being the hands and feet of Jesus. It was awesome!

Congratulations Sis. Sarah, WABC Women of the Year! Thank you for being an inspiration to us all and for being such a humble servant for the Lord.

Thank you to all of my friends and family who came into help. I love you all so much. Special thanks goes out to my girlfriend Rev. Lee. When Pam threw off her shoes I knew it was on! Ladies you know what to do now.....Run and Tell That!

It's Time Ladies!

Come be refreshed in Jesus! This week begins our WABC Women's Ministry Weekend Experience.

Wednesday May 20th at 7 PM (following our weekly prayer, praise and food) we will hold a Women's Bible Study intitled "Finding Rest In Jesus". Our facilitator will be our very own Sister Jenette Sapp.

Friday May 22nd we will host a special "Girl's Night Out". If you know a young lady between the age of 12 and 26 (mother's are also invited to attend with their daughter's) please let them know about our special girls night out event entitled " You're Designed To Shine" in the church dining hall. This event includes light refreshments and a night of fellowship and fun. There is no cost for this event.

WABC Women get ready to be refreshed in Jesus at our Women's Ministry "HeartSpa" Workshop which will be held on Saturday May 23rd. Those of you who signed up for this event are asked to arrive promptly that morning at 8:30 AM so that you may sign in and receive your workshop bags. Please bring your bibles, a washcloth and a bath towel with you. We will provide everything else that you will need.

We wrap up our weekend with our Annual Women's Day Celebration on May 24th at 11:30 AM. Our speaker will be Rev. Dr. Pamela Chandler Lee of Bethlehem Baptist Church, in Chase City VA. Our women's Day Theme is " Healing Heart's: Finding Rest In Jesus". Our women's day colors are purple and sage green.

See you there!
